(Patria) - The appointment of chiefs of three state police agencies has been on hold for the third month. The Independent Board of the BiH Parliament sent the ranking list to the Council of Ministers of BiH on August 9, but the appointments have never been on the agenda. Several sessions of the Council of Ministers of BiH during September were cancelled due to lack of quorum.
We remind you that on July 19, the Independent Board concluded the interviews and prepared the ranking list.
The mandates of the directors and deputy directors, except for the director of SIPA, expired at the end of May. They remain in their positions until the appointment of new directors and deputies.
The ranking list proposed two names of successful candidates for each position. For the position of Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, Mirsad Đelilović and Ensad Korman were proposed. For the Deputy Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, Goran Amidžić and Đuro Knežević, the current Deputy Director of SIPA, were proposed.
Political leaders clearly have their reasons for not wanting to appoint personnel to the three police agencies.
SNSD is in no hurry because they have one position out of six.
The remaining five positions of Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, one deputy director, Director of the Border Police of BiH, Deputy Director of the Border Police of BiH, and Deputy Director of SIPA are held by Bosniaks and Croats.
The Director of SIPA, Darko Ćulum, is close to SNSD. Therefore, SNSD is not in a hurry with appointments in the police agencies. Dodik is more interested in changing the leadership of OSA, although that process is completely stalled.
According to the ranking list for the Director of the Border Police, the top-ranked candidate is Robert Perić, close to HDZ BiH, and the second-ranked is Mirko Kuprešaković. For the Deputy Director of SIPA, the top-ranked candidate is Zoran Galić, and the second-ranked is Vladimir Popović, both from the Border Police of BiH.
For the Deputy Director of the Border Police, Fahrudin Halač and Amra Aljić were proposed. This would be Halač's second term.
Will the appointment of directors and deputy directors in police agencies also wait for the establishment of new government and the Council of Ministers of BiH is a question to which no one can give an answer now.
