Historic Visit: Barack Obama Travels to Cuba

US President Barack Obama will travel to Cuba next month for a historic visit, which will be the first visit by a US president to the country in almost 90 years and a dramatic sign of thawing relations between the two former Cold War enemies, reports the Patria News Agency.

Obama will meet with Cuban President Raul Castro, Cuban entrepreneurs, and "Cubans from various social strata" on March 21 and 22 in his last year of office, the White House announced. The US President will be accompanied by his wife Michelle.

"Next month I will travel to Cuba to give further impetus to the progress already made and efforts that can improve the lives of the Cuban people," Obama wrote on Twitter, writes Index.
