(Patria) - Thousands of Palestinians performed Eid prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.
Prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque this year were relatively subdued amid the Israeli war against Gaza and due to Israeli soldiers checking the identification of worshippers.
The Al-Aqsa complex and mosque is one of the holiest sites in the world for Muslims.
Israeli authorities blocked thousands of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank from reaching the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem for prayers during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Last year, 120,000 worshippers gathered at the same location.
