THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE IN BINGO Mall: Bravo for the economy, but a minus for organization

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Today's opening of the large Bingo City Center shopping mall, which provided jobs for 130 workers, was overshadowed by photos showing crowds and disregard for epidemiological measures. As commendable as the fact that such a facility opened in the midst of a pandemic is, criticism was not absent because thousands of customers flocked to the shopping center today.

The Novinska agencija Patria team visited BCC around 3 PM and saw that not all epidemiological measures were being respected. Cafes inside the center were full of guests without social distancing, and there were large crowds at the checkouts without adequate distance between customers. An additional problem was that the same doors were used for entry and exit. Security guards stationed inside and outside the center were more focused on checking customers' bags upon entering the hypermarket and whether they had receipts, rather than whether they were wearing protective masks or had disinfected their hands. A large number of people were not wearing masks at all.

Although it is truly an impressive facility spanning over 44,000 square meters, the fact that thousands of customers were indoors at the same time cannot be ignored, especially in other stores where there is not enough space to maintain social distance.

In the end, we can say bravo for the economy, but a minus for the organization.
