The March of Peace will gather thousands of participants from all over the world again this year. The column, comprising people of all ages and nationalities, but mostly Bosniaks, will once again remind the world of the Bosniaks murdered in Srebrenica and surrounding areas during the aggression against BiH from '92 to '95, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
The March of Peace is a walking tour held as part of the commemoration of the anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica and its surroundings. It aims to pay tribute to the victims of the genocide and to remind of the horrific crimes committed by the forces of the Army and police of Republika Srpska, supported by forces from Serbia, against Bosniaks of the "UN Safe Zone" - Srebrenica, in July 1995.
The march is called a protest march because it aims to engage all relevant actors, at the local and international level, for the faster arrest and prosecution of persons responsible for the committed crimes. This, they say, is necessary to achieve justice as a prerequisite for building lasting peace and tolerance among peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The column of participants, numbering thousands of people from almost all parts of the planet and growing every year, starts from the Local Community of Nezuk (municipality of Sapna) and covers a distance of about 100 kilometers over three days to reach Potočari (municipality of Srebrenica).

Upon completion of the March, participants have the opportunity to attend the commemoration and participate in the funeral prayer and burial of identified victims of the genocide, found in one of the mass graves from the locations they passed through as part of the planned route.
The March of Peace lasts for three days, from July 8 to 10, 2014, with as many stages. Each stage is between 25 and 30 kilometers long. The column departs between 8:45 and 9:00 AM from Nezuk, municipality of Sapna. However, on the stretch from Nezuk - as the starting point, to Potočari - as the destination, new participants of the March of Peace will join the participants all the time.
The Organizing Committee notes that this year, transportation from the main part of BiH to Žepa will be organized by buses, from where the journey to Potočari continues on foot.

- We will depart on July 9 at 6:30 AM from in front of the Wiza center in Stup, and we will continue on foot towards the Memorial Center in Potočari from the place called Borak in Žepa. Transportation is also provided for the return journey. Sleeping tents are provided, but participants must bring their own food and sleeping bags - the organizers announced, reports Patria. Participants who set off towards Potočari from Žepa will join the participants departing from Nezuk at the very entrance to Potočari.
