(Patria) - Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah said on Sunday it launched a drone attack on Mount Hermon in the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan Heights, where Israel has a key surveillance centre.
They said this was the first such bombardment since they began exchanging fire with Israel on October 8, a day after its Palestinian ally Hamas attacked southern Israel.
Hezbollah says it will stop operations only when the war in the Gaza Strip ends.
Israel has key surveillance, espionage and air defence facilities on Mount Hermon, which overlooks the Syrian capital and has been used to monitor several countries since the October 1973 Arab-Israeli war, agencies reported.
Video footage on social media showed thick smoke rising above Mount Hermon, attributed to Hezbollah's attack.
