
On this day, 20 September 1992, Fadila Odžaković Žuta, one of the heroines of the defence of Sarajevo against the Serbian aggressor, passed away, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
While fighting was ongoing at the locality of Žuč, Orlić strategic heights for the defence of Sarajevo, on 18 September 1992, Žuta was wounded, and she died two days later.
Fadila Odžaković Žuta was born on 14 March 1958 in Goražde. She was a soldier, a member of the 1st Motorised Brigade. Posthumously, in 1993, she was awarded the highest war decoration "Golden Lily", and in 1994, the "Order of the Golden Coat of Arms with Swords".
Many said she was braver than most men, and as it was recounted, her last words were "Don't let them pass".
