Helsinki: Bećirović emphasized the importance of BiH's membership in the EU and NATO in a conversation with the Finnish Minister of Foreign Affairs

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović spoke with the Minister for European Affairs of the Republic of Finland, Joakim Strand, during a working visit to the Republic of Finland.

Bećirović thanked for the continuous support that Finland provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path to membership in the EU and NATO. He pointed out the importance of Finland's support in the European integration process of our country, especially when obtaining candidate status for Bosnia and Herzegovina for membership in the EU and making the decision to open accession negotiations of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the EU.
Also, Bećirović emphasized that the goal of Bosnia and Herzegovina is full membership in the EU and NATO. The Minister for European Affairs of the Republic of Finland, Joakim Strand, stated that his country strongly supports the expansion of the EU and the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the countries of the Western Balkans. He emphasized the necessity of a clear and credible path to membership, which includes providing technical and financial assistance to help Bosnia and Herzegovina meet the necessary criteria.

During the conversation, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović condemned
the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and expressed support for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The Chairman of the BiH Presidency emphasized that membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU and NATO would significantly contribute to the improvement of economic development and progress of the entire country.
