In accordance with procedures, and at the request of the Civil Protection Service of the municipality of Konjic, the Armed Forces of BiH engaged on 11/11/2015 at 2:00 PM one Mi8MTV helicopter team from the 2nd helicopter squadron of the Air Force and Anti-Aircraft Defence Brigade, for the purpose of extinguishing a larger forest fire in the Bijela area, municipality of Konjic, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
The fire has engulfed several hectares of land covered with grass, low vegetation and forest, with a tendency to spread, which is why the engagement of the Armed Forces of BiH is a great help to the civil protection units and firefighters on the ground.
Helicopter units of the AF BiH have been on standby 24 hours a day since the beginning of the fire season. The Mi8MTV helicopter team from the 2nd helicopter squadron of the AF BiH has successfully extinguished fires in recent days on Mount Treskavica and the Rujište locality, municipality of Mostar.
