
SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina continued to fight the forest fire in the municipality of Prozor early Thursday morning.
Competent civil institutions requested the use of a military helicopter on Wednesday, April 8, in the afternoon, while another UH-1H helicopter from the 2nd Helicopter Squadron of the Air Force and Anti-Aircraft Defense Brigade of the BiH Armed Forces was engaged in extinguishing a forest fire near Tuzla.
The 2nd Helicopter Squadron of the BiH Armed Forces from the "Rajlovac" barracks dispatched a second UH-1H helicopter to the fire site in the area of Ustire, Kučani, and Klek near Prozor at 3:10 PM.
Nineteen buckets of water were dropped during the afternoon. While performing the task of extinguishing the fire, the crew of the 2nd Helicopter Squadron of the BiH Armed Forces adhered to all prescribed procedures, including COVID-19 protection measures, and the firefighting continued on Thursday morning.
By engaging its capacities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, the BiH Armed Forces demonstrate readiness in fulfilling their legally prescribed mission of assisting civil authorities and the population in extraordinary situations.
