Helez agrees on even more intensive cooperation between the defense industries of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey

(Patria) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez is participating in the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) in Istanbul from today, which lasts until July 27.

IDEF 2025 is organized under the patronage of the Turkish President and represents one of the largest and most significant military industry fairs in the region.

It gathers leading domestic and international companies from the defense and security sectors, providing a key platform for presenting modern equipment, exchanging knowledge, and strengthening international cooperation.

On the very first day of the fair, Helez held a meeting with the Secretary of the Defense Industry of Turkey, Haluk Görgün.

During the meeting, cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey in the field of defense, past achievements, current challenges, and guidelines for future cooperation were discussed.

Helez expressed particular satisfaction with the meeting, emphasizing the significant role of the Secretariat of Defense Industries in supporting projects implemented through the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey.

Also during the meeting, he agreed on even more intensive cooperation between the defense industries of these two countries.

Minister Helez told Görgün that Bosnia and Herzegovina's integration into the European Union and NATO are two strategic goals of BiH's foreign and security policy.

The Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina expresses a lasting and deep commitment to improving bilateral cooperation with Turkey and full readiness to continue implementing the existing agreement on military-financial cooperation with Turkey, and believes that a new agreement will be signed in 2026.
