HDZ attempts to cover up the case of arrested inspector Marin Rebac

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Police officers of the Federal Police Administration arrested on March 22 at the Orašje border crossing a sanitary inspector of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, initials M.R.

He was arrested for the criminal offense of "Receiving gifts and other benefits".

According to the FUP at the time, in his capacity as a sanitary inspector at the border crossing, on March 17, 2020, for a small financial gain, he failed to perform sanitary control and order administrative isolation measures for two citizens returning from a country affected by the COVID 19 pandemic, and allowed them to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As part of the aforementioned activities, and based on the order of the competent Court, the official premises of the Sanitary Inspection used by the suspect were searched.

Patria has learned that the arrested inspector is Marin Rebac. Incidentally, he is an HDZ cadre and the brother-in-law of Nevenko Herceg, the Prime Minister of HNK. Herceg confirmed to journalists in Mostar today that his wife is related to the inspector, but did not want to elaborate.

Marin Rebac is a veterinarian by education, born in 1962 in Derventa. However, Rebac is one of the cadres we have written about before, who live in Croatia and earn their salary in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Rebac lives in Slavonski Brod (Croatia) and works at the Orašje border crossing.
 
Sources of Patria from the city on the Sava River say that before becoming a sanitary inspector, he worked at the same crossing as a veterinary inspector.
 
Rebac was a delegate in the RS Assembly from 1998 to 2000 as a delegate of HDZ BiH.
 
Our sources say there is a suspicion that the entire case is being attempted to be covered up due to family and political ties, although besides two documented cases, no one knows if Rebac acted in other cases. If he did, new clusters are not excluded.
 
Rebac has dual citizenship (BiH and Croatia) and the question arises what if he goes to the neighboring country. Will he be just another name on the list of those who avoided proceedings in BiH thanks to dual citizenship?  
What further indicates an attempt at a cover-up is the question from the BiH Border Police, "Is the FUP competent for action in the Orašje border crossing area besides the Border Police?".

Finally, perhaps it is best to conclude this news with the words of the director of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, Anis Ajdinović, after Rebac's arrest: "I want to thank the Federal Police Administration and colleagues who participated in these operational activities so that this person is promptly removed from duty and faces the consequences of his shameful and dishonorable deeds."
