HDZ does not have a majority in Livno, the city has no budget

(Patria) - Another attempt to constitute the municipal council in Livno has failed. The session was adjourned, and budget payments are blocked because the decision on temporary financing was not adopted.
An attempt was made last night until late evening hours to elect the leadership of the council, but it did not succeed. Voting was secret and done three times, but invalid ballots were decisive, so no list received a majority. Three lists were proposed: HDZ 1990 and SDA proposed Sead Hadžijahić for president, and Ivan Penić for deputy president of the City Council. SDP and HDZ BiH proposed Hana Milak for president and Glorija Lijović for deputy president of the Livno City Council. HRS proposed Hana Milak for president of the Livno City Council. They did not propose a candidate for deputy president.

Although it is clear that there are enough people in the Council who would support Hana Milak, this did not happen. The problem is that HRS, which supports Milak, who is also the joint proposal of SDP and HDZ, was not ready to support the election of the deputy president from HDZ as a package.

- HDZ is to blame, which, contrary to the rules of procedure, conditioned the election of Milak with the election of its deputy president. When the vote was finally held according to the rules of procedure, HDZ sabotaged the vote for Ms. Milak. We did not have a third round because HDZ is renouncing the constitution, and the assembled coalition around HDZ 1990, which exclusively supports the SDA candidate, did not have enough votes, and we are again in a vicious circle, stated Ivica Brešić, from HRS.

This party previously clearly stated that they will not support Sead Hadžijahić (SDA) because he held that position for eight years and achieved nothing good for the citizens with HDZ. Aware that the fate of budget beneficiaries depends on the constitution of the council, HRS stated that they are always present, but they will not agree to blackmail.

From HDZ, whose mayor leads Livno, accusations are made that it suits some to create a chaotic situation. However, they did not want to give up on the deputy president, so they called on others to form a majority.

All regret the budget beneficiaries, but no one is giving up on appointments. 

- I will not run after anyone for their vote, but we need to adopt the budget so that the institutions can start working, stated Hana Milak (SDP).

Currently, no one has a majority, and there could be one if HDZ 1990 gives up on SDA, from which they recently launched a truly chauvinistic attack on Hana Milak, baselessly believing that she cannot declare herself as Bosniak. The Central Election Commission refuted them. HDZ BiH announced an initiative to hold an extraordinary session at which a Decision on Temporary Financing would be made and the budget unblocked.
