Hasečić: Whoever is bothered by the restored house where Bosniaks were burned alive, we seek police protection

Unknown vandals have again damaged the restored house of the late Adem Omeragić in Pionirska Street in Višegrad, where on 14 June 1992 more than 70 Bosniaks, women, children and the elderly were locked in and burned alive. This house was restored by his daughter Sumbula Zeba, writes the news agency Patria.

The president of the Association "Woman-Victim of War" Bakira Hasečić told NAP that she immediately informed the police and the president of the Višegrad Municipal Assembly Suljo Fejzić.

- While we were mowing the grass in the yard of the house where people were burned alive, where a crime against Bosniaks was committed, we saw damage to the facade. It was damaged by throwing stones at it, and traces of black paint and eggshells thrown next to the house, which the vandals used to pelt it, are also visible. The police came and, in the presence of Mr. Fejzić, photographed the house and conducted an investigation. None of the previous cases of vandalism have been solved by the Višegrad police, so we will demand 24-hour video surveillance of the house called the "living pyre". We call on domestic politicians and the international community to get involved in this case, says Hasečić.
