Hari Varešanović and Deen Backović removed from contribution payment list

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton today issued decisions terminating the right to pay contributions for pension and disability insurance for Hajrudin Varešanović and Fuad Backović due to non-fulfillment of legal obligations.

Namely, on March 31, 2019, the deadline expired according to the Law on Prominent Independent Artists (Article 14, Paragraph 3) by which Hajrudin Varešanović was obliged to submit to the Expert Commission for the acquisition, review, suspension, and termination of the status of prominent independent artists a certified statement from the competent authority, given under moral and material responsibility, that in the previous calendar year he had an income less than twice the annual average net salary earned in Sarajevo Canton, because it is precisely on this basis that an independent artist acquires the right to pay contributions for pension and disability insurance. Therefore, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS, in accordance with the Law on Prominent Independent Artists and the Decision on the conditions and procedure for recognizing the rights of prominent independent artists to have contributions paid from the Budget of Sarajevo Canton, issued a Decision on the termination of the right to pay contributions for pension and disability insurance for Hajrudin Varešanović.

Also, Fuad Backović did not fulfill the legal obligation (Article 15, Paragraph 1 and Article 24, Paragraph 1 of the Law on Prominent Independent Artists) to submit complete and documented proof of continuous artistic activity in the previous calendar year. Given that Backović did not submit complete and documented proof of continuous artistic activity in the previous calendar year, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS issued a Decision on the termination of the right to pay contributions for pension and health insurance for Fuad Backović.

The decisions come into effect on the date of their issuance. The Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS regularly updates the Register of Prominent Independent Artists, which records every change (suspension of status - non-payment of contributions and other cases), and after the Expert Commission verifies the statements, it will be updated again.
