Chaos in Pristina: Protesters throw red paint and stones at police, who respond with tear gas

After a brief lull in Pristina, the clash between police and protesters resumed, with protesters throwing stones and red paint at police, painting their shields, and the police responding with tear gas, KosovaPress reported, as carried by the Patria news agency.

Inside the parliament, the opposition again tried to enter the chamber during the session, and when they failed, they activated tear gas in the hallway outside.

Earlier, at the very start of the session, it was interrupted because the opposition threw tear gas into the chamber and sprayed ministers with pepper spray.

The session was nevertheless held in another hall on the fourth floor of the parliament building, where the 2016 budget law was adopted in principle.

A Kosova Press journalist reported that MP Albulena Haxhiu lost consciousness.

Opposition MP Albin Kurti of the radical Self-Determination movement said the spray was directed at Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and the government because of the agreement on forming the Association of Serbian Municipalities, Koha.net reported.
