(Patria) - Seven hostages held in Gaza were killed during Israeli bombardment of the enclave, Abu Ubaida, spokesperson for Hamas's armed wing - the al-Qassam Brigades, said yesterday.
It is not known when these seven hostages died.
"The al-Qassam Brigades confirmed that the number of hostages killed as a result of Israeli military operations in Gaza has now exceeded 70," Abu Ubaida announced on Telegram.
The Israeli military campaign followed Hamas militants killing 1,200 people in southern Israel and abducting at least 250 people on October 7, according to Israeli data.
Israel responded with a military assault on the Gaza Strip, in which more than 30,000 Palestinians lost their lives, stated the health ministry of the Hamas-ruled enclave.
During a one-week truce in November, Hamas released over 100 Israeli and foreign hostages in exchange for the release of 240 Palestinian prisoners.
