(Patria) - Hamas has submitted a positive response to the latest proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza to mediators, TASS reported last night.
"Hamas has submitted its response to the mediators and the movement is ready to immediately begin talks on the implementation of the proposal under consideration," the radicals said in a statement on their Telegram channel.
Hamas announced that their response is positive, without providing details.
Egyptian television Al-Qahera Al-Ikhbariya reported, citing sources, that Egypt and Qatar are continuing their efforts to reach an agreement on Gaza.
On Friday, Al-Ghad television reported that Hamas's response to the ceasefire proposal would differ slightly from the initiative of US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, which was adapted by mediators from Egypt and Qatar.
Sources said that Hamas would present "its new vision" on three contentious clauses and would not demand a mandatory thirty-day extension of the ceasefire after the sixty-day ceasefire expires. However, Hamas believes that it is still necessary to continue negotiations until a complete agreement on Gaza is reached.
Al-Ghad also reported that Hamas would demand that humanitarian aid be delivered to the enclave in quantities sufficient to meet the demand for food and medicine.
