Hamas holds 109 more hostages

(Patria) - In an operation to clear and eliminate remaining Hamas strongholds in the southern Gaza Strip, the Israeli army found the bodies of six hostages last night in Khan Yunis and extracted them from the enclave.

According to Israeli data, Hamas holds 109 more hostages, many of whom are likely no longer alive. At the same time, attempts to establish any kind of ceasefire have continued.

After meeting with Israeli leaders in Tel Aviv, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken traveled to Egypt to mediate an agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages.

Blinken called on Hamas to seriously consider a new peace plan, and also appealed for the acceptance of the latest proposal for a cessation of the war and the release of hostages in Gaza.

Israel has in principle accepted the peace proposal initiated by the US, according to which the fundamental disagreements that led to the conflict between Israel and Hamas should first be bridged.

Amid numerous criticisms of the negotiations, Hamas rejected the new peace plan because it believes that any talks are superfluous given that Israel, they say, has only one goal - the complete destruction of all their strongholds in Gaza.
