We were shocked when we heard what Anto did. We knew he had problems, but he was always polite to us, say the neighbours about Anto Niče (35) who slaughtered his mother, brother, and sister-in-law in the village of Veliki Kablići near Livno, reports the Patria News Agency.

He returned on Friday from the Mostar detention center where he spent a month for domestic violence. Cold-bloodedly, in the evening, he went to the kitchen for a knife. He went upstairs and stabbed his mother Luca (66) there. Then, covered in blood, he went downstairs where he encountered his brother Matko (46) and his wife Sandra (44), originally from Šibenik.

Enraged, he started stabbing them with a kitchen knife as well. His brother Matko managed to escape and call the police, despite suffering multiple stab wounds. Wounded, he went to his neighbours, who called the police.

Meanwhile, the rampaging killer Anto fled.

As he ran, he left bloody sneakers, socks, and a shirt in the field. Although the ambulance arrived quickly at the crime scene, they could only confirm that the killer's mother and sister-in-law had died. The ambulance transported the severely wounded brother Matko to the Cantonal Hospital in Livno. From there, they headed with him to the Split hospital. But there was no help for Matko; his injuries were too severe, and he died in the ambulance.

No one knows what drove Anto to kill his family members. The police are still searching for the killer, and there is a possibility that he has fled to Croatia, as the border is very close.

Witnesses say they last saw him at a nearby gas station. Those who know the fugitive maniac better do not want to talk much about him out of fear. They briefly say that he is a very violent man and a drug addict. Anto also has a thick record because he was often in detention, precisely for domestic abuse. A warrant has also been issued for him.
