Hacker attack on BH news agency Patria

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - BH news agency Patria has been under strong and targeted hacker attacks in the past hours. This is not the first time this media house has been targeted by hackers. 

According to experts, these were planned attacks aimed at preventing the distribution of information from the BH news agency Patria to media in BiH and end users.

The hacker attacks came at a time of stories about investigations related to the diploma of Osman Mehmedagić, director of OSA, and when articles published in media close to SDA and Bakir Izetbegović did not silence Patria's journalists, and after the publication of the article “While Mehmedagić 'chases' his diploma, terrorists in Sarajevo develop a network” the attack became the strongest and the website went down. Technical services eventually managed to restore the site.

Given that the BH news agency Patria (NAP) is a dynamic and professional, patriotically oriented media outlet that actively monitors political developments in BiH, and that we are already well-recognized in our influence, there is a basis for reasonable suspicion that this is also a politically motivated attack.

The legal team of the BH news agency Patria, after collecting documentation on this criminal offense, will report the unknown persons responsible for this attack to the competent authorities. The attack will be reported to journalist associations, foreign embassies, the OSCE, and the OHR.
