Hadžići: Police stopped a lumber thief, he tried to run them over with his vehicle and fled the scene

(Patria) - On Wednesday evening at 9:35 PM in the locality of Ljubovčići settlement, Hadžići municipality, during a police intervention following a report of illegal logging, and while taking legal actions to stop an off-road motor vehicle, the driver attempted to run over police officers with the vehicle and then fled in an unknown direction.

During the incident, one police officer sustained serious injuries, and another sustained minor injuries. The injured officers received medical assistance at the General Hospital "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš" in Sarajevo.

The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was informed, who ordered an investigation at the scene due to the grounds for suspicion that the criminal offenses of attempted murder and assault on an authorized official person while performing security duties /Article 166, in conjunction with Articles 28 and 359, paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina/ were committed.

While undertaking measures and actions to shed light on and document the aforementioned criminal offenses, police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton learned that A.D., born in 1995, residing in Hadžići, can be linked to the commission of these offenses, and they are working intensively to find him.
