Hadžibajrić: I will sue Handanagić for serious accusations and alleging I stand behind the bombing attack

An explosive device was thrown at the house of Halid Solaković, candidate of the Civic Alliance for the mayor of Sarajevo municipality Stari Grad, last night. No one was injured in the explosion, writes the Patria news agency.

Suad Handanagić, candidate of the SBB-SDA coalition for the mayoral position, made serious accusations against the current mayor and independent candidate Ibrahim Hadžibajrić.

In a statement to N1, Handanagić expressed concern for his and his family's safety.

- After this, I am personally concerned for my safety, and I would not be surprised if the circles of the current mayor tried to do the same to me, Handanagić said.

In a statement to the Patria news agency, Hadžibajrić said that he would sue Suad Handanagić for slander.

- The dirty campaign waged against me furiously has now gone too far. I can no longer be surprised by a man who was ready to change his place of residence, which was supported by certain political parties, a man who continuously spreads vile lies about me. I will seek through the court that he, as well as those who persuaded him to accuse me, bear the consequences, Hadžibajrić said.

According to some media reports, the motive for this attack lies in the fact that Halid Solaković's son, Nermin, was a witness in the murder case of Vedad Bajrica and stated during the court proceedings that an explosive device was also thrown into the yard of the Solaković family home on November 4, 2015, which did not detonate at the time.
