Hadžibajrić and Purivatra Sign Agreement on Co-financing of the Sarajevo Film Festival

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Mayor of Stari Grad Municipality Ibrahim Hadžibajrić and Director of the Sarajevo Film Festival Mirsad Purivatra signed today an agreement on co-financing this year's SFF worth 20,000 KM. Cooperation between this prestigious festival and Stari Grad Municipality has lasted for many years, and since the largest number of events take place precisely in Stari Grad, in addition to financial support, the Municipality also provides technical support.

As Hadžibajrić stated, this year, as before, the Municipality has allocated financial resources for the purpose of the highest quality organization and realization of the 24th Sarajevo Film Festival.

- The Sarajevo Film Festival is an event of regional character that everyone should be proud of, although unfortunately many do not think so, while neighboring countries would do everything to have such a world-class film festival - said Mayor Hadžibajrić, adding that all institutions should support this Festival.

According to Mirsad Purivatra, there are still 14 days left until the start of the 24th Sarajevo Film Festival, and preparations for it have been underway for a long time.

- What pleases us is the continuous cooperation and support of Stari Grad Municipality, and we are truly delighted that this is the case. All our guests, who are mostly accommodated in the area of Stari Grad Municipality, will certainly enjoy the entire time because it is the most attractive municipality in Sarajevo - Purivatra said.

As he stated, the received grant will be partly used for promotion, and partly to support the stay of guests precisely in the area of Stari Grad Municipality.

- This means the money directly returns to hotel and catering establishments located in this municipality. It is essentially a return on investment - he emphasized.

Today's signing was also attended by the Chairman of the Stari Grad Municipal Council, Jusuf Pušina.

The Sarajevo Film Festival will be held from August 10 to 17.

The Sarajevo Film Festival was established in 1995 and represents one of the most significant cinematographic events in the region. The festival is a meeting point for film authors and producers from the region and beyond.
