
(Patria) - United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has welcomed the announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
In a statement, his spokesperson stated that Guterres calls on all parties to the conflict in the Middle East to respect international law and the terms of the truce in order to pave the way for lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.
Guterres also expressed "sincere appreciation" to Pakistan and other countries for their contribution to achieving the ceasefire.
