Grubešić: Accused Indirect Taxation Authority officers arrested in 2014 Gold operation

The BiH Prosecutor's Office has indicted 11 customs officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH (UIOBiH), who are charged with corruption offenses, abuse of office or authority, and illicit financial gain.

The accused are customs officers of the UIOBIH who were engaged in customs passenger inspections at Sarajevo International Airport. 

Spokesperson for the BiH Prosecutor's Office, Boris Grubešić, reminded the BiH news agency Patria that these are officers who were arrested in June 2014 in the 'Gold' operation. 

The accused are charged with committing organized crime offenses in connection with abuse of office or authority and accepting gifts or other benefits. 

Along with the indictment, the BiH Prosecutor's Office is submitting dozens of material evidence and proposes summoning 56 witnesses and expert witnesses. 

The indictment includes the head of the Sarajevo Airport Customs Office, Vehid Sadiković, shift leaders at the Customs Office Zoran Lončar, Mensur Mašetić and Šemdin Taufik, and customs officers Maid Keč, Branka Tešić, Muhamed Hanjalić, Emir Čaušević, Zijad Hadžifejzović, Damir Burnazović, and an officer from the Sector for Prevention of Smuggling and Customs Fraud in the ITA BiH, Damir Dudo, writes NAP.
