Grossi: IAEA and Russia discuss removal of enriched uranium from Iran

(Patria) - The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is in talks with Russia and other countries about the possibility of removing enriched uranium from Iran, AP reported, citing IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

According to their information, Grossi noted that this is a complex operation that requires political approval, but did not reveal any further details, TASS reports.

"What will be important is that this material leaves Iran," said the head of the IAEA, adding that the material could be mixed with other materials to reduce the enrichment level.

Earlier, in an interview with TASS, Iranian political scientist and international relations expert Ruhollah Modabber emphasized that if Iran decides to transfer enriched uranium to Russia, it will be able to achieve a more favorable and sustainable peace agreement with the United States.
