Grošelj: Bosnia and Herzegovina is part of Europe, the country's future is undoubtedly in the community of nations that make up the EU

(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina is geographically and culturally part of Europe. Its past and present challenges reflect Europe's past and present challenges. But the future of BiH is undoubtedly European, in the community of nations that make up the EU.

This is stated in the congratulatory message sent on the occasion of Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Slovenian MEP Klemen Grošelj.

"The EU and Bosnia and Herzegovina face similar challenges. In both cases, policies that caused the collapse of European civilization are on the rise. Once with the Holocaust, the other time with Srebrenica. These are policies that are fundamentally contrary to the values on which the idea of the EU is based and on which the statehood of BiH rests and will be founded.

Bosnia and Herzegovina faces a great opportunity and challenge, similar to that of March 1, 1992. I am confident that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of their national or other affiliation, will be able to seize the opportunity and resolutely set their homeland on the path towards a European future and EU membership. It may not be the easiest path, it may not be simple, but it is certainly the only one that guarantees peace and prosperity for everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
