Grlić Radman gets lost in his own fascism: 'Za dom spremni' is banned, and yet it isn't

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The head of Croatian diplomacy, Gordan Grlić Radman, on Croatian footballers who, celebrating bronze at the World Cup in Qatar, shouted the Ustasha salute "za dom spremni", says it was a reaction in enthusiasm, within a song, and that now they want to cast a shadow on their success.

Grlić Radman said that this Ustasha salute is banned in Croatia, and yet it isn't.

He claims that the reactions to Croatian footballers singing songs by Marko Perković Thompson are actually an attempt to cast a shadow on the "brilliant success" of Croatian footballers.

"That salute is banned. You know, now they actually want to cast a shadow on everything that the Croatian national team, which is brilliant and for whose successes we receive so much praise, now they want to overshadow it by implying that someone explicitly came out and, perhaps, put their hand up or something like that... It was a reaction, I would say, in enthusiasm, within a song," said Grlić Radman.

He added that it is known what the situation is with that salute in Croatia, which, as he claims, is banned, except in certain occasions related to HOS and defenders, reported N1 Zagreb correspondent, as reported by the Index portal.

As an example of when the salute is allowed, Grlić Radman cited commemorations and ceremonies of the suffering of Croatian defenders, but not celebrations of sports achievements.
