Greek independent judiciary will objectively assess the case

(Patria) - Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman and his Greek counterpart Giorgos Gerapetritis discussed the developments following the fierce street clash between fan groups in front of the AEK stadium in Athens, in which 29-year-old Michalis Katsouris was killed.

"The independent Greek judiciary will objectively assess the case," emphasized Minister Gerapetritis. Grlić Radman expressed regret over the death of the Greek fan, condemned the participation of Croatian fans in the incidents, and expressed confidence that the Greek judiciary will objectively investigate the events, it was learned from diplomatic sources. As also stated, he thanked the Greek prison authorities and the state for their cooperation.

Let us remind you that pre-trial detention was ordered for all 105 arrested persons. With the ordering of pre-trial detention for the last 33 defendants who pleaded guilty yesterday, the investigation procedure has been concluded, and the detainees will be distributed among 16 different prisons on Greek territory.

Another Croatian, who was arrested while trying to cross the Greek border on a bus route to Albania, was later added to the list of accused. According to the police report, he is the brother of one of the detainees. Pre-trial detention was also ordered for him.
