Grbavica: Robber fired in Konzum, subdued by citizens

(Patria) - A real drama unfolded this evening in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Grbavica after an armed robbery attempt on Konzum.

One of the robbers also fired a shot, and he was subdued by citizens. The Ministry of Interior of Canton Sarajevo is on the scene. According to initial information, there are no injuries.

Allegedly, the robber had a gas pistol, and his escape was prevented by citizens who were in nearby cafes at the time of the robbery.

Allegedly, shots were fired in Konzum, but also on the street.

Officially from the Ministry of Interior of Canton Sarajevo, they say:

"Shortly before 8:00 PM, the Novo Sarajevo Police Station was reported that a robbery was committed in the 'Konzum' facility, Trnovska Street 2A, where a certain amount of money was stolen under threat of a weapon.

The perpetrator fired a weapon inside the facility, during which no persons were injured. At 8:05 PM, a man identified as M.T. (born 1977) from Sarajevo was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of committing this criminal offense. A gas pistol and the cash stolen in the criminal offense were found. Police officers are on the scene.
