Bosnia and Herzegovina Border Police Seized Over 12 Kilograms of Marijuana at Hum Crossing

(Patria) - Members of the Border Police Unit of Bosnia and Herzegovina Hum on August 18 seized 12.6 kilograms of the narcotic drug marijuana at the entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Hum International Border Crossing.

The smuggled narcotic drug was discovered during a detailed inspection of a Mercedes passenger motor vehicle, with Montenegrin license plates, at the second line of border checks. The vehicle was driven by D. U. (2000), a citizen of Montenegro, according to the BiH Border Police.

After members of the BiH Border Police Unit Hum noticed PVC bags with a grassy substance resembling marijuana in the vehicle, the duty prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office and the pre-trial judge of the BiH Court were informed about the incident. According to their orders, a search of the person and vehicle was conducted, and the suspect was deprived of liberty.

The search of the vehicle revealed 23 packages of the narcotic drug in several hidden places in the vehicle, specifically under the rear seat, in the car's trunk, and in the vehicle's floor.

Montenegrin citizen D.U., along with a report on the committed criminal offense of "unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs," was handed over to the acting prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

The seized narcotic drug marijuana was temporarily confiscated, as well as the vehicle and other evidence that may be used in criminal proceedings, the statement said.
