Bosnia and Herzegovina Border Police Prevented Over 300,000 KM from Being Taken Out of BiH in Six Days

Officers of the Border Police Unit Sarajevo Airport prevented over 300,000 KM from being taken out of BiH in six days. The money, in various currencies, was discovered on 19 foreign nationals, 18 Chinese and one Korean woman, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

We remind you that on 01/23/2015, at Sarajevo International Airport, hidden money amounting to 45,210 euros was found on a Chinese national, which she had hidden in chocolate wrappers. In addition, cigarettes and coffee were found.

Three days later, on 01/26/2015, undeclared 107,315 euros, 2,310 yen, 506 dollars, 2,000 forints, and 360 KM were discovered on 18 nationals of the People's Republic of China, as well as a larger quantity of cigarettes, coffee, and alcohol. The foreign nationals did not possess the necessary documentation for transporting money and goods across the state border.

Yesterday, on 01/28/2015, undeclared 10,000 euros were discovered during baggage screening for a flight to Ljubljana by BiH Border Police officers. The money belonged to a national of the Republic of Korea, who, along with the discovered money, was handed over to officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority for further proceedings.

The Indirect Taxation Authority stated that each individual can carry up to 5,000 KM across the border without any permit, and an additional 5,000 KM with proof of origin of the money.
