Bosnia and Herzegovina Border Police arrested a 40-year-old man attempting to smuggle 15 people

(Patria) - Members of the BiH Border Police Unit Kamensko, on September 22, 2023, deprived of liberty a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, N.B. (1983), after he was discovered smuggling 15 persons of Afro-Asian origin.

The smuggling was prevented during the supervision of the state border and by controlling a passenger motor vehicle Mercedes, with BiH national plates, in the place of Blaževići in the area of Tomislavgrad.

Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons has been committed, the duty prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office was informed about the mentioned event, according to whose order the vehicle and other evidence will be temporarily confiscated, and the citizen of BiH will be questioned as a suspect.

It was determined that four foreign nationals are citizens of the Republic of Turkey. The remaining smuggled persons did not possess identification documents, and in the Migrant Questionnaires, they stated that they come from Syria and Bangladesh. Further work on this case is underway.
