BiH Border Police and Una-Sana Canton Ministry of Interior Conduct Operation in Velika Kladuša to Uncover Organized Crime Groups

(Patria) - The Border Police (GP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a statement today regarding the operational action to uncover organized crime groups codenamed "Stabandža".

"Members of the GP BiH, together with members of the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of Interior, continue activities to uncover perpetrators of criminal offenses of Organized Crime from Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH, Kidnapping from Article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH, Extortion from Article 295 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH, Illegal Possession of Weapons or Explosive Materials from Article 371 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH, and to identify organizers and other persons involved in committing criminal offenses from the Criminal Code of BiH - Smuggling of Persons, Article 189, all with the aim of dismantling organized criminal groups and smuggling chains whose members operate in the wider Western Balkan region.



These activities were realized today within the framework of a joint operational action codenamed 'Stabandža', in which, in addition to members of the Border Police of BiH and the Ministry of Interior of Una-Sana Canton, other competent institutions and agencies participated, specifically in the area of the municipality of Velika Kladuša, at the locations of Gradina, Grljevac, Zborište (Crkvina), and Stabandža (Kekići).

Prior to the operational action itself, members of the Border Police of BiH conducted continuous activities over the past month in the border area of the municipality of Velika Kladuša with the aim of locating and identifying the mentioned members of organized criminal groups.

These are continuous preventive-repressive activities that the Border Police of BiH has been conducting for the past few months, both independently and in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.



During the implementation of the operational action, the Border Police of BiH used available equipment for inspection and search of the terrain, border surveillance (binoculars, thermal cameras, drones, etc.), and equipment for vehicle and person control.

Approximately 90 police officers from the Border Police of BiH and the Ministry of Interior of Una-Sana Canton participated in the realization of these activities," the Border Police of BiH announced.
