After 11,003 refugees entered Croatia by 10 PM last night, the Ministry of Interior closed border crossings with Serbia, reports the Patria News Agency.
However, refugees continued to enter Croatia through fields along the border, and by 9 AM this morning, 14,052 had arrived. Police stated that the border will remain closed "until further notice".
The decision to close the borders was made after Slovenia began rejecting refugees arriving from Zagreb at the border. Three train cars carrying refugees were separated and held at the border.
However, during the night, train cars with about 150 refugees were eventually allowed through, the Slovenian police announced. They did not explain why they allowed them to enter Slovenia after previously stating they would be returned to Croatia.
