Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić demands that the Sarajevo Canton Police arrest the killer of two girls who died in a traffic accident near the National Museum, and that the Prosecutor's Office and the Court impose the harshest punishment on the killer, Patria reports.
For such a chaotic situation on the streets of Sarajevo, the mayor considers the police most responsible, who are paid to protect the lives and property of Sarajevo's citizens. They are not doing that, but together with the citizens, they silently watch as madmen rampage through Sarajevo's streets with their cars.
The mayor calls on the police to finally start establishing order in traffic on Sarajevo's streets, or for those most responsible for such a situation to step down from their positions. A government that is unable to force its police to do their job is not worthy of the role it should perform.
Unfortunately, it may happen that this appeal, like the appeal of all civilized citizens of Sarajevo, once again remains without an adequate response. Therefore, to be honest, the mayor for now tells his fellow citizens to protect their children and themselves from reckless drivers who rampage through Sarajevo's streets.
On this occasion, the mayor expresses his deep condolences to the families of the deceased twenty-year-olds.
