The Mayor of Brčko District of BiH, Anto Domić, has also made a statement.
After farmers demanded his dismissal and payment of agricultural subsidies for 2014 today, Domić stated that the protests were organized by people who are used to taking KM 200,000 in subsidies. These are about 20 people, while other farmers are struggling. He said that this can no longer function in such a way.

- I assure you that the interest of a few people is at play here. No more than twenty people are used to taking KM 200,000 for subsidies, while other honest farmers who receive small amounts of money continue to struggle. Our law states that the limit per agricultural household is KM 60,000, and some, who are now ringleaders, as I said, receive up to KM 200,000. Some farmers receive KM 20,000 in subsidies, and they work abroad – Domić said. He asked the farmers where the tractors from the machinery circle ended up. He said that the process of robbery has been going on for 15 years.
- All of this is at the expense of the smallest agricultural producer who is not here, or rather, the one who receives one, two, or five thousand KM in subsidies – Domić said.
Mayor Domić said that agricultural subsidies are paid from public funds, and that almost nothing is returned to the public coffers from agriculture. What farmers buy must have a receipt for it, just as they must have a receipt for what they sell.
According to him, farmers will continue to receive KM 7.5 million for subsidies annually, but there will be no more undeclared work.
