Gradiška: Drugs found were intended for smuggling into Germany

GRADIŠKA, (Patria) - The Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH announced that a detailed inspection of a truck shipment at the Gradiška customs post, in cooperation with officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), uncovered a large quantity of "skunk" drugs that were being attempted to be smuggled from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Germany.

- Officials of the ITA from the Smuggling and Offence Prevention Group of the Banja Luka Regional Centre, late last night at the Gradiška customs post, conducted a detailed inspection of a truck shipment declared for export customs clearance. The shipment intended to go from BiH to Germany was declared as footwear for export customs clearance. A detailed inspection of the shipment revealed a larger quantity of the narcotic drug "skunk". Field activities were carried out with detailed coordination with colleagues from the State Investigation and Protection Agency – SIPA, who took over all subsequent activities in this case – it was announced.

The operation conducted at the Gradiška customs post represents another proof of successfully planned and executed joint activities of the ITA, SIPA, and other state agencies.
