Citizens Submitted 4,450 Reports to the FBiH Tax Administration, Fines Collected Amount to 30 Million KM

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina discovered 13 undeclared workers working illegally at one taxpayer in a single day (November 21, 2019), who were thus exploited by the employer.

"In the past four years, operations have uncovered 6,864 undeclared workers, 6,278 taxpayers who did not issue receipts, 5,414 taxpayers who operated without a work permit, and 1,780 taxpayers who did not have a fiscal device installed. Due to these irregularities, the Administration has sealed 4,142 facilities and issued 12,291 misdemeanor orders with fines totaling over 30.1 million marks. Despite all the activities being carried out, there is still a significant number of employers who hire workers illegally, do not issue fiscal receipts, operate without a work permit, and commit other irregularities. Therefore, in order to more effectively combat such phenomena, we call on all citizens to help us and report any knowledge of tax law violations.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is our homeland where we should stay and be happy, not disenfranchised, humiliated, and exploited. We must not allow our individual and collective rights, such as the right to healthcare, the right to pension and disability insurance, and other rights that belong to us based on employment, to be diminished by those who do not register workers and do not pay taxes and contributions, thus deceiving both citizens and the state, while simultaneously increasing their wealth," stated the FBiH Tax Administration.

The FBiH Tax Administration invites citizens to be their partner and report all irregularities.

"The Tax Administration has so far received 4,450 reports from citizens, and all submitted reports have been subject to verification and acted upon. The Tax Administration expresses its sincere gratitude to all citizens and invites them to continue to be our partner in the fight against all forms of corruption, with the note that, as before, every report will be treated with full discretion."
