Citizens ask institutions: Who is responsible for the escape of suspects in the murder of police officers

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - An email was sent today to the addresses of the Cantonal, Federal and State Prosecutor's Offices, as well as the Chief Prosecutor of the KS Prosecutor's Office, Sabina Sarajlija, by a group of concerned citizens, as they signed themselves, in the country and the diaspora. The letter was also sent to the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prime Minister of KS, the Head of the Office for the Fight against Corruption and Quality Management of KS, the media, the OHR, and SIPA, demanding urgent sanctions against any official who obstructs the investigation into the murder of Sarajevo police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović.

"We call on the competent prosecutor's offices of KS, FBiH and BiH, police agencies of KS, FBiH and BiH, the Press Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Communications Regulatory Agency of BiH and the Independent Board for Selection and Review of Sarajevo Canton, which oversees the work of the KS MUP Commissioner, to urgently act ex officio and investigate the allegations published in Oslobođenje on 4.11.2021. regarding the unacceptable behavior of the KS MUP and the KS MUP Commissioner in the investigation into the murder of Sarajevo police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović.

We demand that you all do your job and initiate investigations, disciplinary proceedings, dismissals and other necessary sanctions due to abuse of position and compromising the investigation, i.e., due to disclosure of official secrets regarding the disclosure of information that resulted in the announcement of the police operation and the escape of the suspects," the letter states.

From media outlets in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the concerned citizens demand that they perform their work responsibly and conscientiously.

"We demand that the competent institutions of BiH sanction those media outlets, including Raport.ba, which published the announcement of the police operation, i.e., a warning to persons who were the subject of the investigation, which resulted in the escape of the suspects. From the Independent Board for Selection and Review of Sarajevo Canton, which oversees the work of the KS MUP Commissioner, we demand the urgent suspension of the KS MUP Commissioner until the completion of the disciplinary proceedings and investigation, and the appointment of an acting official," the letter concludes.

We remind you that on Thursday, searches were conducted at several locations in East Sarajevo and Pale, but no one was arrested. During the searches, a larger quantity of firearms and automatic weapons was discovered and seized.
