Grabar-Kitarović in Brussels on BiH: Electoral Law Reform Necessary

(Patria) - Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is on an official visit to Brussels today, where she is talking with European officials. During her talks with the President of the European Council Donald Tusk, she also spoke about BiH.

"A cordial and constructive conversation with European Council President Tusk. I expressed concern about the developments in BiH. Croats must have the right to elect their legitimate political representatives. Electoral law reform is necessary," Grabar-Kitarović wrote on Twitter.

"Good discussion with President Kolinda on the future of Europe and the situation in the Western Balkans," Donald Tusk wrote on his Twitter profile.

Grabar-Kitarović also discussed the upcoming EU-China summit, to be held on April 9, with Juncker, given the increasing presence of China in the European space. The expansion of the EU and the situation in BiH were also discussed.

"There is growing understanding, and I would dare to say that if we had started insisting more aggressively a few years earlier, before the elections, on changes in BiH, which of course BiH must implement itself, on changes to the electoral law and the fulfillment of European criteria, perhaps we would not be in this situation today," Grabar-Kitarović stated.
