Govedarica reveals: What is hidden in the contract between Hungarian LREN and Elektroprivreda RS?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske and the Hungarian company LREN signed a contract for the sale of shares in the company "Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant Trebinje 1" on January 11 last year, reveals SDS Presidency member Vukota Govedarica on his Facebook profile.

He further states that this contract, concluded just over a year ago, resulted in a new ownership structure in the limited liability company whose activities relate to the production and trade of electricity.

"The Hungarian company LREN bought 70% of the shares from Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske for five million, specifically KM 5,077,206, which until that moment owned the entire capital of the company Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant Trebinje 1. Who stands behind the Hungarian company LREN in a political sense, and whether the company has a joint Serbian-Hungarian blessing as a prerequisite for good business, is still unknown, but it is quite likely that this Hungarian company could apply to the announced Hungarian fund, which will have 100 million euros in its portfolio," Govedarica believes, as reported by BN TV.

Govedarica also states that only at the beginning of this year did the news appear in public that a private Hungarian company had reached an agreement with Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske in a joint venture for the production of solar electricity in the Trebinje locality.

Many, in his opinion, accepted this information as a sign of goodwill and gratitude from the official Banja Luka to Viktor Orbán, who presented himself as a great friend of the Republika Srpska.

"However, the information I have obtained suggests that the truth about the solar power plant and Serbian-Hungarian relations on this issue may be different," warns Govedarica.

He is of the opinion that a private company of a mysterious Hungarian, with the help of institutions, could become very respectable in solar energy production.

"Of course, if the Hungarian government establishes a fund and deposits the mentioned money. And if nothing comes of the fund, then the mysterious Hungarian will find other sources of financing because it is a very profitable business, at least when it comes to Herzegovina, which is abundant in sunny days throughout the year, Govedarica emphasizes.

If Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske has already decided to sell the majority stake in Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant Trebinje 1, why, Govedarica asks, did they not sell it to a fraternal business entity from Serbia?

"When we consider the regime's desire to acquire capital in the electricity system at all costs, it resembles that greedy person from the short story who was so hungry that by taking huge bites, he endangered his own life. The only question is, is there anyone to pat him on the back so he can cough up what he has bitten off and cannot swallow, Govedarica concludes.

He reminds that on November 6 last year, Viktor Orbán announced in Banja Luka that the Hungarian government would establish a development fund with 100 million euros to show friendship with the authorities of the Republika Srpska, which, as stated in the announcement, would ultimately include support for small and medium-sized enterprises, farmers, and many others who would show development initiatives and, implicitly, be somewhat politically suitable and loyal.
