Experts said, experts proposed. We listen to experts. Experts approved.
So far, not a single press conference of the federal staffs on the coronavirus epidemic has been held without one of the speakers invoking experts.
Much blame has been shifted to people we don't see and who don't appear at press conferences. But, we do have a constant trio at these conferences - Vjekoslav Mandić - Goran Čerkez - Davor Pehar.
When asked why you don't test more, the answer is that experts say so; why this quarantine - that's what experts say; why are you putting people in tents instead of sending them home to isolate - that's what experts say. When will you reduce restrictive measures - when the experts decide.
NO! This was, so to speak, a minefield. The measures were stirred up because of the Constitutional Court, not because of the experts. And they changed significantly when petty dictators realized they had been exposed.
Children and the elderly finally saw the light of day and welcomed freedom. Although we all know that the Constitutional Court of BiH is responsible for this, those from the staffs once again invoked experts.
Of course, we didn't see the experts this time either.
And it would be interesting if the already worn-out media faces gave some space to those experts, so we could ask them questions and see what they say live.
Because, we have already met Vjekoslav Mandić, the Minister of Health of the FBiH, and unfortunately, we have also met his knowledge of geography. From him, we learned that Germany and the UK are our neighboring countries, that the WHO praises us wherever it can, that everything was done correctly....
We also saw some Dodik-like manners from Mandić. He compared the number of infected people in the FBiH entity and Germany. That's like comparing the small river Tilava in Sarajevo with the Thames.
Tests and testing have been the most interesting and the biggest cause of public disputes with the federal minister of health and the staffs of this entity since the beginning.
WHO says test, test, test. Federal staffs repeat, there is no need. And then, after public reaction, procurements of hundreds of thousands of tests follow. And still, mass testing is not done.
They boast about some averages, blind us with numbers, but in reality, they are still testing very little.
Since March 5, when the first cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in BiH, Bosnia and Herzegovina has performed a total of 29,130 tests. When looking at the testing statistics per million inhabitants, BiH has performed 8,879 tests, according to the Worldometer website.
And today, people from the staffs were telling the story of how they were praised, how they are doing a good job, how it is a sufficient number of tests.
However, the data betrays them, tells a different story, reveals that our staffs are lying, and in the end, the only question that arises is what about the tests.
On one occasion, the Minister of Health of TK, Dajana Čolić, told me that one test examines five samples. Therefore, from the 150,000 procured tests alone, our EXPERTS could have tested 750,000 samples.
Instead of mass testing, they opted for tyranny against their citizens and a nuclear catastrophe for the BiH economy. The economic radiation of their decisions will be felt for years to come, and hungry mouths will flee the country in search of a better life.
Aware of their mistake, the minister and his staff are comparing us to countries that also did not test much. They use the old recipe of manipulation to prove that they are right. They compare themselves to Croatia and triumphantly say, "look, they tested like us too."
Since the minister does not like to be compared to "distant" countries and prefers to compare himself with neighbors like Germany, we will compare those data as well.
Germany tested about 30,000 samples per million inhabitants, and a total of over 2.5 million tests were performed.
In Slovenia, with which Mandić also compared himself, about 25,000 samples per million were tested, and a total of almost 53,000 people. Slovakia has fewer infected and deceased from coronavirus than BiH, and it tested twice as much per million inhabitants. In terms of the total number of tests, Slovakia performed three times more than BiH.
Although Mandić does not like to look beyond Europe, we will also compare the data of a South Asian country with Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is the Kingdom of Bhutan, which has 770,000 inhabitants.
In Bhutan, a total of seven people have been infected, five have recovered, and two are actively ill. There are no deaths. Even with such data, Bhutan has more tested per million than Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to Worldometer data, per million inhabitants, Bhutan tested 13,000 samples. So, quite a bit more compared to BiH. From all this, it follows that the so-called corona law for mitigating the consequences of the pandemic on the economy should not be called that at all.
It would be much more accurate if the law were called the mitigation of the consequences of the decisions of Mandić and the experts during the coronavirus pandemic.
Because the policy of the Ministry of Health and Mandić at its head is Chernobyl for the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
