ANNIVERSARY OF THE CRIME IN KALINOVIK Smajić: Bosniaks did not suffer, they were killed, expelled, and raped by aggressors from Serbia and Serb neighbors

(Patria) - Delegate of the Party of BiH in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Džemal Smajić, attended today the commemoration of the 31st anniversary of the crime against Bosniaks in Kalinovik.

Addressing the attendees, he greeted the families, relatives, and neighbors of those who were brutally killed, expelled, and raped in this area during the period 1992-1995 by aggressors from Serbia and Serb neighbors.

- It is truly difficult to speak before you, because you are the ones most qualified and have the right to speak. However, you saw yesterday in Sarajevo how the state minister and deputy minister for human rights, at some parade they came to support, spoke about discrimination and human rights.

Why did they not come here today to speak before you about discrimination and human rights? And why is the High Representative not here today, because he knows well, and we are telling him from this place that we also know, what the provisions of Annex 7 of the Dayton Peace Agreement are.

I remind you that point 1, paragraph 2, speaks of returnees, their rights, but also about how no one should be discriminated against in the territory of the smaller Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity.

The High Representative knows well that we know that Article 5 of Annex 7 of the Dayton Peace Agreement speaks of the missing, of those whom we are still searching for here today after 31 years.

Article 5 of Annex 7 explicitly states that "families of the missing have the right from domestic institutions to information about the whereabouts of the remains of their loved ones, their relatives." But the High Representative does not react to this.

Nor do those politicians who reacted yesterday react; they are not even here today. We Bosniaks have a wide threshold of tolerance, but let them not be mistaken, we are well aware of the discrimination being carried out against us Bosniaks, especially in the smaller BiH entity.

This mural of a war criminal convicted of genocide that we saw in Kalinovik itself violates Article 1 of Annex 7, because it states that "returnees must not be intimidated, that they have the right to life and the right to integration."

All of us in BiH must adhere to clear facts - Bosniaks did not suffer, but were killed, expelled, raped, and it is known by whom - aggressors from Serbia and Serb neighbors.

Therefore, it is truly difficult for me to speak before you, because what you know, with which you go to bed every night, is not easy; it is a question for all scientific analyses how the human organism endures all of this - Smajić said.
