ANNIVERSARY OF THE ARMY OF RBiH MARKED IN MOSTAR The state has not been fully defended, a red line of defense must be drawn

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - By paying tribute to the fallen soldiers of the Army of RBiH, laying flowers at Mostar's Šehitluci, and a ceremonial academy at the National Theatre Mostar, the 31st anniversary of the formation of the Army of RBiH was marked under the slogan "Let memory last, let truth bear witness".

One of the wartime commanders of the Army of RBiH and recipient of the wartime recognition "Golden Lily", Esad Humo, stated to the media that the state has not yet been fully defended.

- The state survived the war thanks to the Army, but also the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Civil Protection, however, it is evident that it has not yet been fully defended. We need the unity we had 30 years ago, regardless of some political disagreements - he emphasized.

He added that a red line for the state's survival must be drawn. Humo also stressed that today must be marked proudly and with heads held high.

 

Member of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, Šerif Špago, stated that today marks the 31st anniversary of the "most glorious Army that existed in these regions and in the history of BiH".

- The Army was formed on the basis of the Presidency of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina's platform for the fight for a whole and unified state of BiH in which all citizens would have equal rights and live in their homeland. On this day, the Army of RBiH is celebrated because the Presidency made the decision to place all armed formations, which until then were in the territory of BiH and accepted the Republic of BiH, under the command of the Territorial Defense Staff - Špago said.

He believes that the Army of RBiH succeeded in achieving its goal, which was to ensure that BiH continues its continuity as an independent, whole, and internationally recognized state.

- Of course, there were many sacrifices in that struggle, many soldiers gave their lives for our freedom, and our primary obligation in the post-war period is to remember them first and foremost, the members of the Army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of BiH - Špago concluded.
