Today, April 16, 2016, marks one year since the brutal murder of Mirza Raščić (1989), one of FK Željezničar's most fervent fans.
He lost his life precisely in the premises of the FK Željezničar fan association, located within the Grbavica stadium. He was collecting money for fans to travel to an away match. Izudin Tahirović, who was arrested several hours later, shot him several times with a pistol, writes the Patria news agency.
An indictment for murder was filed against him in early July 2015, and the trial is still ongoing.
Mirza Raščić will be remembered as a bright light of Bosnian football, and his Manijaci will forever cherish his memory, as will the club's management. Today, Željezničar is hosting Travnik at Grbavica, and the management has decided that 1 KM from each ticket sold will go to his mother and sister who were left behind.
Fans are calling on everyone to come to the match in as large numbers as possible.
Mirza's closest friends will go to the Vlakovo cemetery, where they bid him farewell to his eternal rest on April 18 last year.
Željezničar's coach Edis Mulalić said that the Željezničar players will play for Mirza today.
