(Patria) - The popular email application is getting an unusual addition - emoji reactions.
A tool that will give your inbox the look of a social network. Google is adding the ability to react to emails with emojis.
This novelty has been talked about since last month, but the company has now officially confirmed - the Gmail service is getting the aforementioned visual reactions.
The feature will be rolled out gradually, starting with Android users, and will come to the web and iOS in the coming months.
Once you gain access, you will see 🙂 at the bottom of the message. Click on the emoji to select your emoji from the menu, and then just tap and send. A few emojis will have special powers, including the party popper emoji 🎉 which will enable a full-page animation.
The feature, writes Verge, will be modeled after the established social network design: we will be able to tap and hold an existing reaction to see who added it, or tap to reuse a reaction that someone else has already added.
As Apple did with iMessage's Tapbacks, emoji reactions will work best within Gmail. If you use a third-party email client, each person's reaction will arrive as a separate email.
There are a few more limitations - you will not be able to use emoji reactions with school or business accounts. They will also not be available if the message is sent to more than 20 people, to a group email list, or if you have been sent a blind copy.
Most importantly, you will not be able to react to a message if you have already sent 20 reactions to it, writes tportal.hr.
