NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to visit BiH

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning of next month, confirmed the Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marina Pendeš, for N1 .

The Minister says that this is a visit that was arranged earlier, with the aim of presenting the results achieved by the BiH authorities in the process of our country's accession to NATO.

Let us remind you, NATO is expected to decide on the activation of the MAP this year, which was confirmed in November by the Alliance's Secretary General Stoltenberg himself during talks with the BiH Presidency member, Bakir Izetbegović, in Brussels.

He emphasized at the time that NATO is ready to activate the MAP once BiH completes the process of registering prospective military locations to the state of BiH.

Otherwise, the BiH Presidency adopted a document titled "Defence Review", which addresses the reform of the Armed Forces of BiH.

Although information emerged that Jens Stoltenberg is coming to Sarajevo due to the recent events concerning the engagement of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Banja Luka on the occasion of the unconstitutional Day of Republika Srpska, Minister Pendeš denies this for N1.

- This is a visit that was planned and agreed upon several months ago, and our representatives in Brussels contributed greatly to it. Those who connect this visit with the activities of the AF on January 8 and 9 are again trying to divert attention and prevent the continuation of our country's path towards NATO integration - said Minister Pendeš.
