SDP Main Committee against sale of public companies

At the fifth session of the Main Committee of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Doboj, members of this committee adopted the Rulebook on holding intra-party elections for the president of the SDP BiH under the One Member-One Vote system, it was announced from the SDP, reports the Patria news agency. 

Members of the Main Committee discussed the current political situation in our country as an item on the session's agenda, where, during an exhaustive discussion, it was stated that the political situation in our country has worsened. Members of the Main Committee once again gave full support to the British-German initiative and the efforts of the international community in reform processes, but, at the same time, they consider it unacceptable that, 15 days after the signing of the Reform Agenda, the SDA and HDZ have still not presented the content of this Agenda to the citizens and what they have committed to before representatives of the international community.

At the session, a position was taken that the FBiH Labor Law will not receive the support of the SDP if it falls below the standards of the 2012 proposal of the FBiH Government's Labor Law, but also that the Government, which does not have a parliamentary majority, has no legitimacy to propose such a law. The announcements of the FBiH Government regarding the sale of state capital in public enterprises were also condemned, and it was stated that the SDP will be against this, and, in this regard, SDP parliamentarians in the FBiH Parliament were obligated to ensure that any decisions on the sale of strategic enterprises can only be made in the Federal Parliament.

Due to the evidently worse financial situation in the FBiH and delays in pension payments, subsidies for farmers, disability benefits and social benefits, members of the Main Committee ordered that the Presidency of the SDP, together with representatives of SDP organizational forms, devise a plan of action and begin talks with pensioners' associations, trade unions, veterans' associations and farmers, for better protection of the interests of this population, the SDP statement said.
